We provide accommodation for both artist residencies and short term stays for visiting arts people at The Grand.

ARTIST RESIdency Accommodation

If your are an artist looking for and residency in Far West NSW, Broken Hill Art Exchange offers artists the opportunity to stay in the city, in centrally located accommodation with access to studio spaces. This allows the possibility to work independently or collaborate with local and other visiting artists. We can accommodate up to fourteen artists at a time, offering a variety of room types, including ensuite, single, double, and dormitory-style rooms with shared bathrooms. Residencies are self catered with communal kitchen, dining room, lounge room and a quiet library available. Residency applications are accepted year-round, Broken Hill Art Exchange membership is required for participation. We also offer paid residencies associated with specific programs.

We offer reduced rate to accommodation to artist who affer workshops, open studios and talks during their residency.

Members can apply for residencies using this form. Compete the form, indicate the room type and dates of arrival and departure, and we’ll be in contact with you to finalise your booking within 7 days.

If you are an artist or arts related worker traveling to or through Broken Hill, you can stay with us. Our accommodation at ‘The Grand’ is simple and economical. We have a range of rooms; ensuite or single, double and dormitory style with shared bathrooms. Accommodation is self catered with a communal kitchen, dining room and lounge spaces plus a quiet library room. Please note that membership in the Broken Hill Art Exchange is a prerequisite.
