FIGURE DRAWING ONE YEAR ON

Celebrating 1 year of Drawing!

March 2025 marked the first anniversary of Broken Hill Art Exchange’s monthly sessions of ‘Figure Drawing’. where experienced artists, along with complete beginners, meet for a two-hour session to practice drawing a (clothed) artist’s model in timed poses.  Designed to facilitate regular practice drawing the human figure, these sessions entail minimal instruction but session facilitator, Linden Eager, encourages participants to start numerous new sketches, experimenting with different techniques and materials to quickly capture the figure in multiple new drawings, rather than refine finishing details. A cuppa and light refreshments are provided during the session break where the sharing of methods and ideas among participants is encouraged in the spirit of a self-help group.

Held In the ‘Heritage Kitchen Gallery’ in the ‘Grand’ courtyard on the first Sunday each month, these drop-in sessions are open to all and do not require pre-booking (BHAE members free/$5 non-members)
