We invite you to create an outfit using waste or recycled material, upcycle/reimagine something from your wardrobe, pull out your favourite op shop purchase or have a rummage at one of our charity stores to find a new look.
Bring Preloved Clothes for a Clothes Swap
Bring up-to 10 items of good quality, clean clothes or accessories to swap and refresh your wardrobe.
Food, Drink and Games
Tickets include dinner, a drink and the opportunity to walk the catwalk and win prizes!
Lets get creative, have some fun and inspire each other to look great sustainably!
Tickets are $30* and include dinner, a drink and a bar to purchase additional drinks at a cost-effective price.

Trashy Fashion: Thrifted Fashion Party & Clothes Swap
As part of the Waste 2 Art 2024 program, The Broken Hill Art Exchange and Lifeline Broken Hill Country to Coast bring you Trashy Fashion, a thrifty fashion event and celebration of handmade, upcycled, recycled and pre-loved fashion.
The Australian Fashion Council conducted government-funded research and established that on average, Australians purchase 14.8kg of clothing, or 56 new items, every year.
Sadly, an average of 10kg of this ends up in landfill. This makes Australia one of the highest consumers of textiles per capita in the world.
The Waste 2 Art program encourages the community to be mindful of waste and think about how we shop and discard items. Trashy Fashion celebrates alternative and sustainable ways to look our best.
